The Knowledge Hub

The Knowledge Hub

A home for research, learning resources, and practical insights on connectivity and digital inclusion.

Why It Matters

Evidence and learning for digital inclusion

Africa’s digital transformation is often held back by a simple gap: knowledge that is hard to find, hard to trust, or hard to apply. Policymakers need better evidence on access technologies and spectrum. Communities need practical guidance for hubs, networks, and digital skills. Engineers and researchers need shared insights from real deployments — not only theory written for other regions.

Wireless Planet was founded with research at its core. From ITU-linked studies on rural connectivity to ongoing work on meaningful access, RF spectrum, IoT, and climate-resilient networks, we treat learning as infrastructure. When evidence is open, contextual, and actionable, partners can design better interventions and avoid repeating costly mistakes.

The Knowledge Hub is where that learning lives — a home for publications, field lessons, capacity-building resources, and insights that connect research to practice across Kenya and Eastern Africa.

The Initiative

What you will find in the Knowledge Hub

Through the Knowledge Hub, Wireless Planet gathers and shares materials that support digital equity work on the ground:

  • Research publications — studies and reports on connectivity, access models, spectrum, and related policy questions.
  • Practical insights — lessons from Digital Hubs, LoRaWAN deployments, community networks, and partner collaborations.
  • Learning pathways — resources that help students, practitioners, and community partners build skills for inclusive digital infrastructure.
  • Stories and updates — blog posts and programme notes that translate complex technical work into clearer public understanding.

Our goal is not knowledge for its own sake. It is to strengthen decision-making for governments, academia, industry, and communities — and to help Africa’s digital inclusion efforts become more coordinated, evidence-led, and locally grounded.

As the Hub grows, we will continue publishing new research, expanding learning resources, and connecting insights across our initiatives so partners can move from analysis to action with greater confidence.
