Data and Data Innovation

Turning connectivity and sensor data into actionable insight for planning, research, and inclusive products.

The advancements across various domains within the digital age, from digitisation to the new technologies’ era, has been made possible with the exponential growth of data. Therefore, a key aspect of the digital age, is data – which has brought us to the data-first world where organisations recognise the immense value of data and aim to prioritise it as a core asset. The data-first world has laid a strong foundation for the AI age by providing abundant and diverse data, further amplified by the advent of generative AI (Gen AI).

At Wireless Planet, we are keen to contribute to the African ecosystem that understands the value of data and the strategic approach to making AI practical. Our AI focus runs as “Data Innovation,” to which we are keen to collaboratively achieve the following:

  1. Enhancing the quality and integrity of datasets on our continent.
  2. Supporting Data Accessibility and Sharing through our Data Hub. Our vision is to create open, interoperable, and secure data ecosystems that allow organisations, governments, and individuals to share and access useful datasets while maintaining privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  3. Contributing to robust data governance frameworks to address issues such as data ownership, consent, transparency, and responsible use, with a strong emphasis on privacy and ethical considerations in AI applications.
  4. Providing real-time streaming data from IoT sensors to build a collaborative data-driven innovation alongside AI-driven analytics.
