Thierno S. Diop has over 16 years of professional experience in the field of strategy consulting and European public affairs, specialising in European funding programmes for Africa. He has supported NGOs, Governments, trade associations and multinational companies to grow their businesses and reputation in Africa.

Thierno has previously worked in finance for Archon France (Goldman Sachs) and Eurostockcity in Paris as well as served as the General Manager of PlaNet Finance Senegal (microfinance) created and chaired by Jacques Attali.

His specialisations are Strategy, Social Impact and Business development and Project Finance in Africa (EU, EIB, World Bank, African Development Bank, Finance Institutions in various BRIC countries, sovereign wealth funds and foundations, private equity firms), High-level lobbying strategy, development issues and public affairs.

At Wireless Planet, Thierno is the lead of Social Impact, assessing the value, opportunity and sustainability of rural Internet access and the deployment of the digital hubs and how it correlates with gender inclusion and issues of maternal health, digital citizenry and entrepreneurship.
